The current economic crisis means cut backs at all levels. Local government and community service agencies face difficult decisions about how to provide vital services with significant fiscal constraints. Perhaps the answers to some of these difficult questions will come from the community.

- understand the evolution of government including the difference between a customer and a citizen
- hear about best practices & successful examples of civic engagement
- participate in an engagement exercise addressing budget cuts
