| The Bay Area Air Quality Plan to meet federal mandates was formally adopted in 1982. Recent activities have focused on plan implementation and progress towards attainment of federal air quality standards. The more-recent federal Clean Air Act of 1990 requires revisions to the '82 Plan. ABAG is and will continue to work with BAAQMD and MTC to prepare the updated air quality plans to satisfy federal requirements and get them approved by CARB and EPA. ABAG also coordinates with MTC as the BAAQMD prepares the Clean Air Plan (CAP) to meet the 1988 California Clean Air Act requirements. Coordination with MTC and BAAQMD in the advisory review and conformity assessment program continues through the Joint Plan and Project Review Team and Joint Air Quality Policy Committee. |
