San Mateo County has introduced the Elected Officials' Electronic YellowPages to make it easier for citizens to contact their elected officials. Enter a street address and zip code anywhere in San Mateo County and receive a list of elected officials from Congress, the State Legislature, San Mateo County, and your city.

City of Sonoma Adopts Regulations for Wireless Phone Services

abagOnline has published the City of Sonoma's Ordinance establishing regulations and standards for the processing of applications for personal communications services and cellular telephone facilities.

Welfare Reform Information Available

Debuting today is the Bay Area's Welfare Reform Network, a regional resource of documents, policies, and contacts in the area of welfare reform. The network is part of ABAG's ongoing efforts to help our members tackle priority issues.

Court Rules on Junk Gun Ordinance

A California Superior Court Judge recently upheld West Hollywood's ordinance banning the sale of "Saturday Night Specials". The text of the court's decision is available through ABAG's site on Junk Gun Control Measures.

The development of abagOnline was greatly facilitated by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications and Information Administration. The final project report to DOC is now available online in the About abagOnline section.

New Record Posting Worth Over $300 million on ACE

On Friday, November 8, 1996, the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) will issue a Request for Qualifications and Proposals for electric supply to serve the electric requirements of 127 local jurisdictions located in Northern California. The estimated bid could be between $300 - $400 million. Check out the ABAG Contracts Exchange.

Election night coverage comes to the World Wide Web, allowing voters (and candidates) to get the latest returns for most races as they come in. Follow the local races at the following sites:

Returns will be updated every 15-30 minutes beginning at 8:00 pm.

Newly-Expanded Web Site for the City of Sunnyvale

The City of Sunnyvale this week announced an expanded City Web Site. Citizens may want to check out the City's Quarterly Report. Other local governments may want to review the City's Internet Information Policy (look for it under the description of the new site).

Petaluma's Telecommunications Ordinance Posted

The City of Petaluma has developed a new Telecommunications Ordinance including wireless antenna siting. A copy of this ordinance is now available at ABAG's Telecomm Network.
