8:00 am until 4:30 pm
El Niño predictions were for winter precipitation systems in the Bay Area and Central California of 150-200% of normal. Local residents experienced stream channel and coastal flooding, hillside landsliding, increased hillside erosion, and coastal landsliding and erosion. Hundreds of homes were destroyed or made uninhabitable. Dozens of roads and highways were closed. People lost trees, cars, pets, and personal belongings.
How did we do responding to the challenges? Were we prepared?
