Marin County launched the Green Business Program in 2002 in partnership with the City of Novato. The Marin County Board of Supervisors recognized their first Green Businesses on April 15, 2002. There are now 65 certified green businesses and 3 public agencies certified in Marin.

The Program is now operating countywide and is open to all businesses and government agencies.

New Green Businesses Certified
in December 2004

Seven new businesses and one additional public agency have been certified in Marin County, including a bank, a green building design center, a cabinet maker, a fabrics and sewing shop, a janitorial service, an elementary school and a community services organization. These newly certified businesses bring Marin County's total to 68, including 65 private businesses and organizations and
3 government agencies.

The program is operating countywide and is open to all businesses and government agencies.
