The City and County of San Francisco launched its Green Business Program in
early 2004. Currently, there are over 30 businesses recognized as San Francisco
Green Businesses from aquariums to hotels to pet boarding facilities. At present,
the SFGBP is focused on the hotel, restaurant and office sectors although all
businesses are welcome to apply.
The goal of the San Francisco Green Business Program is to achieve a healthier and
cleaner environment by helping businesses integrate environmental responsibility
into their operations in a manner that is sustainable as well as profitable.
