Workshop Goal -

LEARN how to design and implement a building inventory of your jurisdiction's buildings to increase your ability to obtain NEW FEMA funding for Pre-Disaster Building Structural Retrofits. LEARN about the NEW requirements from FEMA and the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.

Each city and county must have a PRE-disaster mitigation PLAN to obtain new FEMA pre-disaster mitigation funding. Participate in this multi-jurisdictional effort as part of your planning process! Use this opportunity to ensure that the buildings your jurisdiction believes should be retrofitted have the best chance of obtaining grants from FEMA or other sources.
