The 1996 Conference (held in October at the Presidio in San
Francisco) was a big success!
More than 600 Bay Area scientists, policy makers, resource
managers, educators and other interested members of the public
were in attendance over the three days of the conference. Presentations
and panel discussions covered a broad range of issues including
the science, management and economics of the Estuary. The Conference
was jam-packed with some of the best minds around the region
who came together to help craft a new mosaic of the State of
the Estuary. Check out the Conference
Schedule -- which was modified only slightly in the last
moments -- to get a full picture of who was there and what they
spoke about.
A full conference round-up is now available.
If you'd like to order a copy of the Conference Abstract Book,
at no charge, then send email or call 510/286-0460. Also, the Estuary
Project would once again like to extend many thanks to the conference sponsors, without whom the Conference would
not have been possible.
The next State of the Estuary Conference will be held in
1998!
