You Are Invited to a Workshop on Aquatic Permitting For Public Agency Personnel.....Aquatic projects – projects that take place by streams, along the coast, along, the bay, in wetlands, or endangered species habitats - involve multiple permits from different agencies. Find out who these agencies are and what their mandates are to protect the environment while permitting projects. Find out where your agency fits into the mix. Find out about the new Fish and Game Streambed Alteration Agreement Process and the Joint Aquatic Resources Permit Application. Meet permitting agency personnel from around the Bay concerned about improving the quality of projects by assisting the public.

9:30  The New Fish and Game Streambed Alteration Agreement. California Dept. of Fish and Game will explain their new 1600 Permitting Process for Streambed Alteration Agreements.

9:50  Roundtable of Other Permitting Agencies including Army Corps of Engineers, BCDC, Coastal Commission, National Marine Fisheries Service, US Fish and Wildlife Services , State and Regional Water Boards

What is JARPA?

We at the San Francisco Estuary Project and the Association of Bay Area Governments have been working with federal, state and local agencies since August, 1998, to develop one permit application that will serve the needs of the regulatory agencies as well as simplify the process for applicants. The San Francisco Bay Area's Joint Aquatic Resource Permit Application (JARPA) is the name of the form being created. The form will provide the following benefits:
