Here are some highlights of ABAG's current (as of December 2009) Smart Growth related initiatives:

Development Without Displacement Report (draft) Bay Area residents should not have to leave the region to find an affordable home near a good school. Link to report and three case studies.
InFocus Blog Smart Growth related blog.
Technical Assistance Services are now being offered to local jurisdictions to advance transit-oriented development.
Priority Development Areas (PDAs) are locally-identified, infill development opportunity areas within existing communities. Applications for Priority Development Area designation are being accepted on a rolling basis.
