| Children's Hospital - San Diego Tax Exempt Lease Financing | |
| In March 2004, the Authority issued $19 million in lease financing on behalf of the County of San Diego for Children's Hospital-San Diego ("Children's Hospital"). Located in the City of San Diego, Children's Hospital is the sole Level I Pediatric Trauma Center for San Diego County and provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient acute and intensive care pediatric services. Other services provided by the hospital include home health, long-term convalescent hospital, outpatient psychiatry, child protection, and developmental services. Proceeds of this tax-exempt lease were used to fund construction and procurement of equipment for a new cogeneration and central plant system. The new facility reliably and efficiently provides electricity, hot and chilled water, steam, medical gas and approximately 3.247 MW of net electrical power (expandable to 5MW) for use in the Children's Hospital complex. This lease is secured solely by a security interest in the equipment financed. |
