Ecumenical Association for Housing ("EAH") is a 29-year old 501(c)3 nonprofit created to develop, manage, and advocate for affordable housing. EAH has fostered broad-based community support through development of 2,300 affordable housing units and in its effective management of more than 2,700 units throughout the area. EAH also has approximately 2,600 units currently under construction or in the planning, acquisition or rehabilitation stages. On February 13, 1997, the Executive Board of the Authority for Nonprofit Corporations authorized an application by the Authority to the California Debt Limit Allocation Committee permitting the issuance of tax-exempt private activity revenue bonds in connection with $1.04 million of privately placed, non-rated, Multifamily Housing Revenue Bonds. These bonds were issued for the construction of the Cochrane Village Apartments, a new affordable housing facility developed by Ecumenical Association for Housing ("EAH"), in the City of Morgan Hill. The Cochrane Village Apartments were developed to provide housing for very low and low income households in the South County area. All of the 16 units have a rent structure designed to serve qualified households earning 54% or less than the area gross median income at affordable rents. Other sources of funds for this project included a CDBG Loan through Santa Clara County, a 3% loan from the Morgan Hill Redevelopment Agency, and the Santa Clara County Housing Bond Trust Fund. |
